Diving back in!

Hey Guys! You have probably noticed my absence on the blog. I am taking this post to explain what has been going on, why I ended up taking the time off from writing, and tell you that I am back! I am so happy to be writing again, sharing my health and wellness journey with everyone.

When I had started this blog, I had a million ideas to write about, and I was so excited to write about it all! My journey, fitness hacks, tips and tricks for staying on track… but as it goes, life happens. I had taken a trip back home for Thanksgiving, and that week was going to be crazy. Catching up with friends, networking for job opportunities, and spending time with family – you can see that it was crazy for sure, and I loved every moment. And while it kept me thinking about everything but my health, I started to notice some weird changes in my body on my journey back. As my boyfriend Matt and I were getting ready to leave, I became extremely ill, assuming I had eaten something bad and that my life would go on. I was completely off my diet, why wouldn’t that be the case?

Well after returning to normalcy, I had a feeling that whatever was wrong was getting progressively worse. I had gone to a local urgent care, and I was diagnosed with a chest cold. But when this pain was at the point when I couldn’t drive a car, Matt took me to the ER. I was scared; nothing like this has ever happened to me before. This was beyond a chest cold. So after getting a CT scan, nervously waiting in the ER, the physician’s assistant tore the curtain down that was separating me from other patients.

“You have a blood clot in your lung.”

And just like that, my world had been flipped. I was surrounded by everyone that I love, helping me through my stay at the hospital. But being brutally honest, this blog was the last thing I was thinking about. Along with a PE clot, I also had been diagnosed with DVT clots in my legs and pneumonia. After coming home, I was exhausted, and my writing was lost.

The recovery was a few weeks, but after I started feeling myself again, I had to focus on my job search. Which, long story short, I was offered a job and was spending my free time relaxing. I can admit I wish I had spent more of that time writing. But after my assignment coming to an end, I began to put all of my efforts into writing again. This is what makes me happy. It’s a space where I can come to write about things that are interesting to me. A place where I can attract people from all over to share a common interest with me – health, wellness, fitness, self-care, and any suggestions from you guys too!

I am always looking to learn more, grow as a blogger and a writer, along with getting to know the community that I am becoming a part of. I am looking forward to picking back up on this journey, and sharing it with everyone! So keep your eyes peeled for my weekly post, published every Thursday!
